One of the unfortunate circumstances of being in a senior position is that there is often nobody accessible to offer regular supervision in line with minimum standards requirements.
External supervision is a recognised programme in most industry for senior management, sometimes referred to as mentoring or personal coaching.
External supervision helps managers clarify their aims and objectives within the company as well as promoting a healthy work attitude. It also demonstrates to employees that even managers see and take advantage of the benefits of formal supervision.
A basic commitment to supervision would be a least one session per month, but schedules can be arranged to suit the individual needs.
